What battlefields do you photograph?

It is mostly Civil War Battlefields, as well as some early American history ones. I plan on shooting a lot more Civil War, Revolutionary War, and others. As you can see, I also shoot other types of Historic Sites not related to battles.

Why shoot battlefields?

I spent a lot of time on battlefields and came to appreciate their beauty as well as their history. As a photographer I saw so many National Parks like Yosemite and Yellowstone being shot but not the battlefields. You see plenty of photos of these shots, but not the artistic fine art type.

Are you an historian or a photographer?

Well, I like to think both. I am an historian and historic preservationist that now makes a living as a photographer. I think this gives me a unique angle on it.

How do i order a print?

After you find the photo you like, simply click on the BUY button and you will be given a number of choices for sizes, matting, framing, canvas wraps, etc.

Do you license photos for publications?

Yes, I license images for publication in books, magazines, websites, etc. Contact me directly for pricing.

What about licensing for non-profit groups?

If your group is directly related to preserving these beautiful battlefields there are greatly reduced or possibly free licensing available. Contact me for more information.

My favorite battlefield is not on here. Are you going to shoot it?

Probably! I plan on shooting as many as I can. If there is one in particular you'd like to see shot or a favorite monument or area, send me a message about it and I'll see if I can work it in. It might make my next shoot location decision easier!

Why are some in Black and White and some in color?

Sometimes it is a personal preference of mine. I really like Black and White, but sometimes color is just what is needed. So I do both.

Can I get a color photo done in black and white? (or vice versa)

Yes. Just let me know what you are interested in and I can make a new version and upload it to the site for ordering. There may occasionally be one that just doesn't look good the other way, and I'll let you know that or show you what I mean over email.
